We are called to Proclaim Jesus our Saviour

On Wednesday night Fr Stan Bendkowski SDS celebrated his Silver Jubilee Mass with our community followed by social gathering. It was a wonderful opportunity to express thanks to God for the gift of Fr Stan's priesthood and his ministry in our Salvatorian community. It was also a good time of prayer for the vocations to priesthood and religious life. Congratulations Fr Stan.

Fr Lawrence Murphy SDS (member of the British Pro-Province of the Salvatorians) joined our community on Tuesday evening to celebrate his 50 years of priesthood as Salvatorian. He presided our evening Mass and joined us on dinner and social gathering. Fr Lawrence was one of the first Salvatorians in Australia.

On the Saturday 24th of March 22 Salvatorian Collaborators from Gosford, Pymble and Pittwater (NSW) held a Reflection Day at Somersby lead by Fr Robert. The topic was Fr Francis Jordan's experience of the Cross based on his Spiritual Diary and his Exhortations and Admonitions.

In our regular quarterly meetings we always incorporate a day of reflection. We usually invite a guest preacher to lead us in reflection.

In our last meeting in March 2012 our guest was Archbishop of Perth Barry James Hickey, who shared with us his reflection about priestly ministry.

As apostolic religious community we are constantly involved in our ministry by serving in parishes and chaplaincies. Days of reflection give us an opportunity to reachrge our spirituality, to "stay with Christ" and listen to Him as the first apostles did.

On the 20th of October we welcomed Fr Grzegorz (Greg) Skulski who came to join our apostolic service in Australia. He was ordained to priesthood this year in May in our Salvatorian church in Trzebinia (Poland). We wish him many God's blessings in this Southern Land.

This week (5-9 Sep 2011) our Salvatorian community in Australia has experienced an annual retreat. It was held in St John of God Sisters retreat house in Safety Bay, south of Perth, WA. The retreat master was Fr Lukasz Kleczka SDS.

As long as there is one person on earth who does not know God and does not love Him above all things, you dare not allow yourself a moment’s rest. As long as God is not everywhere glorified, you dare not allow yourself a moment’s rest.
