wyd 2011

Following the success of the Salvatorians Pilgrimage to Cologne, Germany and the International gathering of the Salvatorian Youth prior to World Youth Day in Sydney, it has been decided once again to run a Salvatorian Pilgrimage to World Youth Day 2011 in Spain to celebrate this wonderful event together.

Salvatorins from around Australia have gathered at their annual retreat in St John of God Retreat Centre in Shearwater. The retreat started on Monday 14th June and will conclude on Friday 18th June 2010.

The Retreat Master Fr Andrew Drogos, also a Salvatorian, has traveled all the way from Nitra in Slovakia where he has been since 2003. Nitra is connected with the beginnings of Christianity in Eastern Europe which goes back to the 9th Century.

We are coming close to the World Youth Day in Madrid in 2011. As Salvatorians we organise and coordinate special pilgrimage to join other young Catholic to celebrate our faith. Our pilgrimage includes visits to Rome, Assisi, Paris, Lourdes, Madrid, Wadowice and Krakow. To find out more about our pilgrimage please ask your parish priest or youth coordinator in any of our Salvatorian parishes.

Fr Marian Brzozowski celebrated his 25th Anniversary of Priesthood on the 31st May 2009, at Our Lady Star of the Sea Parish in Esperance where he has been Parish Priest for the past five and a half years.  This was celebrated on Pentecost Sunday in memorable style with Mass, followed by a gathering with Parishioners.

Well it is now only two days until 40 Salvatorian Collaborators from Australia embark on the inaugural pilgrimage organised by their Leadership Team. By travelling “In the Footsteps of Father Francis Mary of the Cross Jordan” the Salvatorian Collaborators would like to mark the end of the Year of Father Jordan and to thank God for the gift of his remarkable life. Following the footsteps of Fr Jordan, they will also have an opportunity to deepen their love for this extraordinary person and priest.
