On the Saturday 24th of March 22 Salvatorian Collaborators from Gosford, Pymble and Pittwater (NSW) held a Reflection Day at Somersby lead by Fr Robert. The topic was Fr Francis Jordan's experience of the Cross based on his Spiritual Diary and his Exhortations and Admonitions.

Fr Robert opened his talk by explaining to us Fr Jordan's life was accompanied by great challenges and sorrow but he was motivated by his faith and trust in God, he never allowed himself to be a victim; and Fr Jordan knew that one who lives in the shadow of the Cross knows that through the Cross he arrives at light, and through death sustains life. He adopted "The Cross" as part of his title, because he understood the significance of it in his life. Fr Jordan spoke of the Cross in many of his teachings.

"The world flees from the Cross but the spirit of the cross is your touchstone".

You will carry the Cross in the spirit of Penance and say 'Still more Lord if it is your will'.

After Morning tea we all filled in a questionnaire concerning our knowledge of the Salvatorian Order and our expectations of our priests and an open forum to discuss this followed. After the lunch break, Fr Robert lead us in Stations of the Cross, and Fr Tadeusz dropped by to wish us well. This was followed by Mass in the Chapel of St. Francis of Assisi.

The afternoon concluded with Maureen giving a short talk on her journey to becoming a Lay Salvatorian, her thoughts and ambitions for the future and Christine Smith, Collaborator Leader from Gosford, thrilled us all with the story of her husband's remarkable recovery from terminal Cancer by the intercession to Fr Francis.
