Saturday - October 11, 2014 was a date for the inauguration ceremony of an academic year 2014/2015, which is an annual event that takes place in Salvatorian Seminary in Bagno, Poland.
The day began with a 9.30am Liturgy of the Eucharist. The inaugural event was attended by Fr. Wlodzimierz Wolyniec the rector of Pontifical Faculty of Theology (PWT), honourable professors Fr. Michal Piela SDS and Fr. Bogdan Giemza SDS from PWT, as well as Fr. Ambrozy Skorupa SDS from The John Paul II Catholic University of Lublin (KUL). There were also salvatorian prests, brothers and sisters and distinguished guests such as regional and local city council representatives, doctors, lecturers and teachers. After the Eucharist, and morning coffee everyone proceeded to the oak room for an official opening of inaugural academic year. Firstly an anthem „Gaude Mater Polonia” - "Rejoice, oh Mother Poland” (written during 13th-14th century) has been sung by seminarian choir led by Fr. Piotr Wojciechowski SDS. Shortly after that the rector of Salvatorian Seminary in Bagno Fr. Jerzy Madera SDS announced an official opening of the academic year and the report/statement for previous academic year 2013/14 has been introduced to the public by Fr. Tomasz Rackos SDS. Part of the report has highlighted an outstanding student Jacek Nowak SDS, for his astonishing academic skills, great performance and His constant input. He got a score well above 4.8 (out of max. 5) and certainly got rewarded for his hard work. It was a very important and exciting day for first year seminarians, including Peter from Australia, as they could officially become students in seminary during the matriculation ceremony. They have received transcripts to keep their academic record during the six year study in seminary. The summarizing point of inauguration was a speech addressed by Fr. Ambrozy Skorupa and covering a wide topic of ’’Synod as an area of dialogue in the Church”.
